This wine rack is priced to sell. It will hold 120 bottles (15 bottles per shelf) with 8 shelves. Each shelf will contain 2 rows. The first row (bottom row) holds 8 bottles and the 2nd row will hold 7 bottles. One thing you need to know that the uprights are not one solid piece. They are two pieces that are held together with dowels. One of pictures shows how the uprights are connected. Also, these wine racks may have a visual imperfection. Within our manufacturing process, we refer to this grade as our ” A minus” grade. This grade is only slightly different than our perfect “A” grade. And the average person doesn’t even notice any difference. See below for explanation of our “A minus” grade.

KEEP ONE GIVE ONE AWAY

Another reason why people love this rack and it’s utility value is that you don’t have to stack each rack on top of one another. It is your choice to keep it as one unit that holds 120 bottles or you can divide it into two parts and have two racks that hold 60 bottles each. You and a friend can split the cost and the two of you will end up with a 60 bottle rack. Very affordable. Very flexible.

In our “A minus” grade, we will let an occassional piece include one of the following: machining defects, slough (sluff) knot, star checked knot, black encased knot, blue stain (light) and some heart stain (redish in color). If you would like to see pictures of these allowable visual defects; please send an email to fhelm.gelumber@gmail.com (with your return email address). It will clearly show that these imperfections are barely visible (even to the trained eye of a lumberman).

The dimensions are : Width = 31 1/4″, Depth = 11″; Heigth = 60″ (if you decide to make two racks that hold 60 bottles each, the height would then be 30″)

If you want to prevent any tipping; please ask for your free “earthquake strap”.

Excellent Wine Rack This is an excellent wine rack. I have a wine review blog (The Reverse Wine Snob) and as such receive tons of samples that I need to store somewhere. This wine rack solved the problem very economically — really it can’t be beat for the price. And a huge plus is that it actually uses real screws! No IKEA furniture here…all the holes are pre-drilled so it’s simple to install but I just find it so refreshing that it uses real screws, so much more sturdy that way. Definitely recommend this wine rack!

Easy to build, great price Building it took a half hour; I recommend a drill for the screwdriver as driving the wood screws will take some work. Looks fine (rustic!), highly functional.
